Don't know if you are still on here but here goes there were 2 chapels in the vicinity one next to St peters school top of glasshouse street named browns chapel over the road almost opposite there was a methodist chapel also there was a pottery on glasshouse street which became ford pottery A ford pottery B is a little further on there was a bottle works on end of quality row the kilns can still be viewed also there was 5 glassmaking works on lime street one being messrss ridley and co I know this as my gggg grandfather was the spokesman for the workers of all 5

Have you tried the local archives or maybe the local library  you would be surprised  at what records these places have

Hi all is there anyone on here that knows about these wars I am looking in particular for any more info on my gggg grandfather who went by the name of William parker, born 1790 in Wandsworth, en listed in Westminster to the 84th foot regiment yorks and lancs in 1811 eventually ended up in madras I think attached to theEast india trading company as a soldier jailed between 1817 and 1819 for murder in local sanatorium then released and sent back to England in July 1820 discharge papers said he was discharged at Plymouth docks but don't know what ship he came back on or who he murdered or anything more any help would be much appreciated  thanks in advance

Hi bev j not really he is in the 1841 census living in lime street Newcastle-upon-Tyne  he has 3 daughters living with them but I can only find one birth and that's isabella the other 2 there is no record of William joined the yorks and lancs in 1811 other than that I've got nothing a quandary to say the least

Can anyone find a birth for a william parker who says he was born in Wandsworth in 1790 according to his army paper that is. I read an article today which says Wandsworth parliamentary borough wasn't formed until 1885
