Technical Help / Re: Mcafee anti virus
« on: Tuesday 26 December 23 12:43 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks for all your replies, some of which go above my head!!

I bought a card last time with a voucher that I`d been given for Christmas 2022; this meant putting in a number similar to a credit card number so I imagine there is no auto renewal. The McAfee website says if this is the case you receive a message 30 days before the expiry date, so I`m maybe not at that point just yet.

Looking further into their website, it seems that my account is connected to an old email address, so I`m not going to muddy the waters further!

I think I`ll go buy another card and and be ready for when it does expire !

Thank you both for your replies.

I guess I`ll just ignore the popup and look into it further for the renewal date

Technical Help / Mcafee anti virus

Please help !

What does this mean ? I had a popup  message from Mcafee saying I have 34 registry issues.

I have instigated it as I have been trying unsuccessfully to find the renewal date.

Scotland / Re: James Graham - married at Galashiels

Thank you for all your replies, I`ve a lot to think about!!

As far as I know there were no children from this marriage, but as there are 11 births in the 1920-1927 window, I`m not sure if I am going to go down that route!!

My mother used to say that "auntie" Mary was an only child, with no children, but I have discovered that Mary Scott had 2 half siblings.

The 1901 census may show the rgiht family; on the marriage cert one of the witnesses is a Mary Graham.

Thanks again.

Thank you for the replies.

James Graham, possibly middle name letter L, but it is difficult to read, was aged 21, a Woollen Millworker,a Bachelor, living at Halliburton (also difficult to read)Place, Galashiel.

His father was William Graham, also a Woollenn Millworker.

His mother was Helen Graham, ms might be Kenton( also difficult to read)

Mary Scott was aged 20, a Spinster,a Woollen Millworker, living at Queen Place, Galashiel.

Mary`s father is listed as William Scott, a Woollen Millworker. William Scott was actually her stepfather.

Mary`s mother is Mary Scott, ms Johnstone.

Scotland / James Graham - married at Galashiels
« on: Friday 29 September 23 19:23 BST (UK)  »
Please may I have fresh eyes on this?

James Graham married Mary Scott on 24th December 1920 at Galashiels. His parents were William and Helen Graham.

In 1927 Mary (Scott) Graham married John Tinline on 30th December.

The thing is I have been unable to find either a divorce or death for James Graham. The marriage extract for James and Mary does not show that it`s been corrected.

I have an extract for a James Graham who died aged 26 in 1924; however, he was single and his parents were Alexander and Jessie, so not the right one.

My connection is with Mary, she was my grandfather`s cousin, but I`m keen to finish of James, so to speak.

Thanks in advance

I googled this before my previous reply because I always want to call the film  Sunshine and Oranges.
