Thank you so much at last I may have something positive to go on looks like I've been looking in the wrong places for Ann.
The thing is there I don't think Canada has many records on line that I can search but at least it is a step in the right direction

US Lookup Requests / where did she dissapear to
« on: Thursday 22 October 09 13:09 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I would really appreciate your help I am trying to find out what happened to my grandfathers sister. According to family stories she was sent to America because she had married and had a little girl to a man who was a different religion to her and her family (they were Irish Catholic) Her parents raised her daughter as their own
I have been searching various records for the past 10yrs with no luck and you maybe my last hope
Here are the details I have her birth name was Ann McDermid or McDermott she was born 28/Nov/1888 in Newton, Cambuslang, Glasgow, Scotland she married George Turner on 12/June/1911 I don’t know what name she used to emigrate.
Her parent’s names were James McDermott and Elizabeth Rielly. I did find a marriage for an Annie McDermott Rowan in Michigan in1925 but don’t know if this is the same person.
Hope you can help me finally solve this mystery.

Regards Rita

Thank's Jim
I inherited these photo's from my  grandmother she wasn't very careful with things like photo's or birth certificates some of them are in a right mess I didn't think she realised how important these things could be to people like myself that find family history important.

She would probably have a fit at some of the things I've came across doing the family tree.
Thanks again
Rita
