Penarth is a strong possibility.

The chimneys are actually wooden posts on the mobile jetty.

What's in the Booklet

Monumental Inscriptions are normally transcribed from headstones in the churchyard, Plinths or plaques in the church. The booklet normally contains a plan of the graveyard and an alphabetical surname index of those names transcribed. Then there is a transcription of each headstone / plinth / plaque.

Entering the cemetery from Cemetery Road entrance (opposite 'The Res' Social Club) you will see the caretakers house in front of you. Turn left along the bottom road.
Section C if the first block on your right hand side.

The Cemetery Index CD (available from Glamorgan Family History Society) lists two of your ancestors in plot C 67, & one in C 69. This may be a transcribing error - as you can appreciate yourself, handwriting can often be difficult to interpret.

Trealaw Cemetery Burial Records    Unit Price :-  £ 11.00  + p&p

This CD is an index of people buried at Trealaw Cemetery, Rhondda and covers the period 1881 - 1990. The cemetery is also known as Llethyrddu. It has been very kindly given to the Society by Melanie Rees. It is an index of the burial registers and not monumental inscriptions.

The burials are indexed by surname followed by the first name/s, plot number and year of burial. It can be searched on any of the fields and multiple burials in the same grave can be found by searching on the plot number.

The original internment notices are deposited at Treorchy library where they can be consulted and photocopies made. The library will photocopy them for those who are unable to travel to Treorchy, but they do charge a small sum for this service

Treorchy library holds an index & burial records for this cemetery. I would be worth contacting them for confirmation of the plot references.

The email address for Anthony Pritchard at Treorchy Library can be found in the 7th paragraph on the page that this link takes you to Family History in the Rhondda Valleys

(I cannot post the email address here directly - it protects the recipient from spamming)
