Hi
I had no idea that records behind these could be searched. Thank you so much. Great to know that in fact there is not a match to my Thomas Reid. I would rather know that. Dont suppose you could take a look at any other records and see if the attached person has a record? Thanks so much
Deirdre

Hi, it was just a family search record that came up on a search for 'Thomas Rennie Scott Reid 1875-1956.  It had his name and birth date on it stating that he had 'served during the period 1806-1915' was the description. Any insight or other places to search would be appreciated.

thanks
Deirdre

Hi all
how do I go about trying to pin down where a relative is buried in Scotland. Many search sites are based on the search of Headstones. What if a relative doesn't have a headstone? what is the next best way of finding out a last resting place. I am interested in William Duncan (1806-1866) and his wife Janet Kilgour (1802-1848)
any help appreciated

Hi
Does anyone know what this military service might have been? I have found a record for my great grandfather serving ... His service record is listed with those ranging from 1806-1915...yet he was also a miner and moved to NZ in 1920. He was bonded for 5 years service to pay for his passage and that of his family. Mum knows that he definitely served, so his birth date and name on this record makes sense, just not sure what his military service would have been.

Would have served in the army full-time? been a volunteer or militia type force? There is no record of him serving during WWl, so it is a bit puzzling. Perhaps the need to mine coal kept him working in this area?

thanks all for your time

Hi Sorry to tag on your thread. Unfortunately have nothing to add to Grace Gibb. I do feel like there could be some connection here. Do you mind if I throw a few names out and see if you see a connection to your family? If not, just ignore, thanks.

Interesting.
I have this in my family tree.

James BEVERIDGE
1778–Deceased
(Marriage: <1802>
Kinglassie, Fife, Scotland)

Christina LOCKHART
1781–Deceased

I am currently trying to connect the following and posted about it this am:
Hi

I live in NZ and on my Mum's side there is the name 'BEVERIDGE".
On my Dad's side there is also the name BEVERIDGE. Descendants of both ended up in New Zealand.

I do wonder if there is a connection and if there is a researcher out there that might have knowledge of this family.
John BEVERIDGE, Dumferline Fife. (No dates, but his daughter was Elisabeth BEVERIDGE
22 September 1849 – 9 September 1905)

Robert BEVERIDGE Kinglassie, Fife.  1803-1870 (his son James 1838-1890 immigrated to NZ).

thanks for taking the time to stop in
