Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Name That Bridge!
« on: Wednesday 21 September 22 15:45 BST (UK)  »
I'm sure I have seen this before on my travels but the only one that I could come up with was the bridge over the river Cam, but it's not that. Does anyone recognise it? I don't think this one will  be that difficult.
Thanks for looking.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / Exhibition - Hull - The Falklands War
« on: Thursday 15 September 22 15:23 BST (UK)  »
An exhibition has been organised in recognition of the Servicemen and Women of Hull who were involved in the conflict. This includes some rare material that we are privileged to have access to.

We are interested in copies of any stories, photos or memorabilia that people would be willing to share for us to use on the day or to keep in our files for visitors to have access to.
We can be contacted by telephone, or email or just by dropping into the centre to chat about the forthcoming event, you will be made very welcome:

Any help would be very much appreciated  :)

Thanks for looking.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Can Anyone Name This Building?
« on: Saturday 03 September 22 15:32 BST (UK)  »
I would appreciate your comments on this postcard photo that was bought in Lyme Regis but that may not be form there. The three women in the foreground appear to be in uniform. There is nothing on the back.
I think this is Edwardian.
Thanks for looking.

This is a postcard photo that I recently bought in Lyme Regis, I wonder if anyone can recognise this building, or offer any suggestions please. There doesn't appear to be any writing on the square plague.
Thanks for Looking.

I think this is WW2 but not certain and I would be grateful for any information relating to the nurses and the what the initials on the men's helmets mean please. one of the nurses has what looks like a Maltese Cross on the bib of her uniform, could this be St. John's Ambulance?
The photo postcard was found in Hull.

The Lighter Side / What a big baby!
« on: Thursday 31 March 22 15:15 BST (UK)  »
I thought this would bring back a few memories, can you spot the dummy? This young girl looks to be at least 8 or 9 or even 10 years old as she has adult front teeth. I do remember when baby food came in tins, National Dried Milk I think it was called in a white tin with blue writing on it. My Father used the tins to make make stilts for us. He cut holes in the bottom and threaded string through them to make handles  ;D
Now it's all called Formula  ::)
Just sharing because I love this one ;)

As the board is quiet, I thought I would give you something to work with. I believe this was taken in the 1920s. It is on my OH's side of the Family. i was emailed this quite some time ago and recently came across it so have no control over the scan. I don't need colour thank you.
Thanks for looking.
