Hi ive only just joined roots today, been searching for my family tree for a month now and ive hit a brick wall,  just phoned shrewsbury records to order a birth certificate of my gt grandad Walter Charles and they require mothers maidenname this is where im stuck as i have a name but not sure if it is the right one his dad is Thomas Charles ive got Ann bevan as walters mum.
would the office still be able to give me walters birth certificate without a maiden name.
