You could always request 1921 vouchers for birthday or Christmas presents if they offer them on the website. I have done this in the past. I much rather have a gift that I could use that have something I知 never going to use.
I know where all my direst ancestors were in 1921 it痴 the brick walls I need to spend out on.

The Common Room / Re: Disguising illegitimacy on birth certificate

Not a direct ancestor but one of my twigs I was researching this afternoon. The couple married on 1917. Have a son in  late 1917. The husband gets killed in May 1918 on board a navy ship. Wife has another son in 1920. She is still a widow on the 1939 register. I wonder who the real father is?

The Common Room / Re: Wrong Photo being used on Family History website.
« on: Sunday 02 May 21 19:32 BST (UK)  »
My grandmother appears in a school photo on the front cover of a book. The book says it痴 1910. She was not born until 1910. She moved to that school in 1917. Too many copies have been printed to change the information.

Personally I wouldn't view it as lying about here age. Remember back then lots of people didn't read and write. Dates were not as important to people then compared to us now days. I have lots in my tree that change dates, swoop names from first to middle name as this is what they are know by. You need to research each variant until each one can be discounted. This can be time consuming but also help get great results.
Good luck in your research.

The Lighter Side / Re: Does family history get to you sometimes?
« on: Saturday 10 April 21 19:29 BST (UK)  »
I知 getting frustrated by the family line I知 tracing at the moment. I知 back to 1700 and trying to get back to the next generation. So my primary source is Paris records. I知 luck they are on findmypast. The surname is unusual but low and behold there is a William born in 1697 and another in 1698 both have different parents. Same parish. Now to play detective and find out which one is mine.
The joys of family history.

We always went for a walk as a family on a Sunday afternoon. Them back home for cold meat and salad for tea. Bath night before school the next day. Often the evening was spent playing Canasta or Monopoly. Not much TV watching. We made our own entertainment.
