Norfolk / Thompson family? Rosetta? Fakenham early 1800s??
« on: Monday 31 July 06 21:22 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to trace the parents of Rosetta (Thompson?), born 1820 in Fakenham, Norfolk.

Rosetta married William Andrews in 1841 and spent the rest of her days in London, passing away in 1883 in Fulham.

It may be that her name was not Thompson (!) so if you have info that matches the rest of the description, I'd be glad to hear from you.

Thanks!

Essex Completed Lookup Requests / Andrews family from Essex, 1800s
« on: Monday 31 July 06 21:18 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to trace my ancestors in Essex.  I can go as far back as William Andrews, who was born in 1820 in Aldrige.  I would be interested in any info that can lead me to his parents.

I believe that William married Rosetta (Thompson?) between Jan-March 1841.  Rosetta was born in Fakenham, Norfolk, c1820.  She died in 1883 in Fulham.

They had two sons, John G (1859) and Alfred (1845).

William (1820) seems to stay off the Census radar until 1871 when he appears as a 'general man', still in London.  I ould guess that as his wife died in Fulham, he remained in London until he died aswell.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Russell Andrews.

Gloucestershire / Joseph Nicholls and Mary Ann...?
« on: Sunday 26 March 06 15:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I'm trying to trace Mary Ann ?  (Surname unknown), she was born between 1814-1816 (census gives differing dates) in Redbroook in Gloucestershire.  She married Joseph Nicholls (b1816) and must have moved to Staffordshire as that is where most of their children were born.

Can anyone shed any light on the maiden name of Mary Ann or who her ancestors were?

Hello!

John McComie, born 1802, died 1891, married Ann McKay in 1840 in Inverness.  I know lots about the McComies (though any more infor you may have would be great)  But I have no info at all on the ancestors of Ann McKay.

I wonder if any of you can shed any light on Ann McKays Ancestors for me?

I've hit a brick wall caused by an illegitamate child!

I'm looking for information on Annie McDonalds Ancestors.  I don't know her date of birth, but I know that she married Henry McCombie in Inverness on 12th May 1881 and was 23 at the time so would have been born around 1858.

My problem is that Annie was the Illegitamate daughter of Ann McDonald, whom I know nothing about.  On Annies Wedding certificate, her mother is the only signatory so I assume that she never married.

Can anyone help out here????

Somerset / Larcombe, Williams help!!!!
« on: Sunday 26 March 06 14:56 BST (UK)  »
Hi!,

I'm looking for links between Francis Larcombe (b1854) and Louisa Williams (b1856)  I think that they were married in 1877 but I can't be sure.  I know that Francis married a Louisa, but I have no real evidence to support the marriage to Louisa Williams.

Francis was born in Nettlecombe, Louisa in Lydeard St Lawrence.

Any info on these family lines would be appreciated!

Thanks. ???

Wiltshire / Farmer Family in Wiltshire
« on: Saturday 25 March 06 21:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hi!

My Grandfather was Frank Baden Farmer (b1921), son of William Charles Farmer (B1873), son of John Farmer (b1849) son of John Farmer (b1809).  Frank was born in Melksham, William in Melksham, and both Johns were from South Savernake.

John Farmer (1849) was married to Jane Baden (b1848) whos parents were (I think) David Baden (1811-1887, from Oare) and Charlotte (Maiden name unknown).

John Farmer (1809) was married to Elizabeth ( maiden name unknown) who was born in Milton in 1814.

I'd be interested to know more about these people, in particular, the maiden names of Charlotte and Elizabeth.

If anyone can shed any light on the lives of these people, or put me in touch with living relatives, I'd be a very happy chap!!

Wiltshire Completed Lookup Requests / Franklin in Melksham??
« on: Saturday 25 March 06 10:57 GMT (UK)  »
I've hit a brick wall with my Great Grandmothers family.  I know that her name was Mary Franklin, and that she married William Farmer in June 1915 in Melksham, but I have no idea about her parents or beyond.  She may not have been born in Wiltshire.

This is a the last attempt before forking out for a wedding certificate to find out her parents!

Any Franklins out there able to shed any light on her history?

Thanks
