Hi

I spotted Pocahontas' name and was interested to read this thread as we stayed in a holiday cottage a few years ago that had been owned by the Rolfe family at Sedgeford, browsing around I found this which is just a little snippet about her.

I found myself and my children on GR and was very upset but GR admin sorted it out for me and they were soon removed.  I had tried contacting through the messaging service but no luck.

I looked in the FAQ section and there is a place to contact Admin if you have a question not shown.  I just e-mailed them through that and they were very helpful, the names were all removed within 24 hours.  Thank you GR if you read this! :)

Hampshire & IOW Completed Lookup Requests / Re: 1871 Census Dummer

I think it might be Chilton Candover, which is about half way between Basingstoke and Alresford, and about 6 miles south of Dummer as the crow flies.  Nutley is on the same road.  Hope that helps.

Is this it, listed on here, a little way down the page?

Looks interesting. :)

Thank you Wendi, I will certainly have a look at those sites, it  would be lovely to know a bit more about her and what her life would have been like.

A big thank you on this snowy night! :)

Thanks ever so much for that Harribobs.  It will be interesting to try and find out what happened to her now.  I will try the British Red Cross.  She carried on nursing after the war so presumably she wasn't too badly wounded.

Thank you again, another piece in my jigsaw. :)

Armed Forces / Red Cross Medal Card Query
« on: Friday 16 March 07 17:26 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

I have downloaded a medal card for a Jessie Carr.

It lists her Corps as BRCS which I think is the British Red Cross and NS as her rank which I imagine is Nursing Sister.

Then lists her medals which are the usual.

Below this, above Theatre of War it says "on SWB list BRCS 28" - Does anyone know what this means?

I have tried attaching it but not got the hang of it yet!

Thank you.
