Armed Forces / ALBERT W BAKER 4th Batt Worcs Regt
« on: Sunday 03 February 13 09:24 GMT (UK)  »
I have all birth, death and census info from 1891 to 1941, putting him with his family in Worcester, UK. I am seeking any info on his army service.
There is an Albert William Baker listed in Worcestershire Regt Rolls, 4th Battalion, army number 45102, but I can't confirm that he was resident at 2 Diglis Ave,Worcester, the address of my man.
There is an online list of people missing from the census taken between 1918 and 1919 and an Albert William Baker of the same birth date does appear there, so maybe he was away with  the army.
Can anybody find his military records? I have searched FindMyPast and Anc with no luck, only Bakers from the wrong area.

Thanks for reading this long message.

Technical Help / Roots Magic and Ipad app problems
« on: Thursday 24 January 13 16:11 GMT (UK)  »
I have downloaded the Ipad app to run Rootsmagic. It just wont work. I have followed all instructions carefully ( about twenty times!)
Icloud say it is linked to the Ipad
My account says it is linked.
The file is in the Dropbox.

The Ipad sits there saying no data.

Is anyone else using this?

The Lighter Side / FindMyPast newspapers on line
« on: Wednesday 05 December 12 10:58 GMT (UK)  »
Oh dear, FindMyPast newspaper archive gave me a shock.

1. My great uncle was a drunken gambler who beat his wife. He was also a witness to a fatal accident of a child.

2. Another was a baker who had no business sense, was almost illiterate and both he and then his wife went bankrupt.

3. My Granddad was convicted of embezzlement at the age of 11yrs. (I reckon he was fitted up by the clerk) I month in prison.

4. My Gt Grandmother was a witness to the  burial of a child, that was investigated by the Magistarates. She tried to help before it died.

I tried FindMyPast having used Anc. for many years, I find I cant check my old census records they come up NOT FOUND but I found them on Anc.
