from the information you found it looks very like Dorothy left her husband and son and moved in with someone else,so that would explain why I could not find her, now I know that she had 2 girls as well, so will have more to add to my husbands tree! thanks so much for your help

Yes i have looked up death indexes, nothing.
They had one child that I know of:William James Knight b1876 skinningrove Yorkshire, who was living with his dad and grandparents in Skinningrove 1881 census by 1891 in Brotton Yorkshire, but no Dorothy,

I am trying to find information about Dorothy Ann Cornforth, I know she married Thomas Knight 1874, guisborough. but she seems to disappear after that, thomas knight is living with his parents in the 1881/1891 census no sign of Dorothy. I found a Dorothy Ann Cornforth in the 1861 census living with her mum, Mary. She was born about 1857 so was only 17 when she got married. can any one help?

hi, I should have made my last post clearer, my great Gran Catherine Hughes was married in dunoon Scotland on her marriage cert she named her father as Patrick Hughes and her mother as Mary Onyans.
on the 1901 census, Dunoon she has put that her place of birth was Co longford.
My great Gran Catherine Hughes was 18yrs old when she married in 1898, so was born in 1880 so her parents could have been married/lived/born in co longford.
From Catherine Hughes marriage cert they were married in a Roman Catholic Church so I would imagine that her religion was RC, does that help

thanks for your post, It is really great news for me as it has taken me years of trying to get any where with this side of my familytree as I could not read the name Onyans, but now I have gggrans name: Mary Onyans/onion, she married Patrick Hughes and they had my great Gran Catherine, from 1901 census I now know that my great Gran was born in Kilashee,co longford. So maybe Patrick Hughes was  from there as well ? I would love to get any more information on any of these people, so any advice on where to find information would be great!
