KG, I meant to ask, after you kindly found the marriage date for Thomas John Palmer and Annie Thompson, whether their fathers names are listed? I have about three possible Annie Thompsons in the census and I don't know which trail to follow.
Huge Thanks,
rosh132

Sorry, I've only just seen your post when I returned to family tree research while convalescencing from Covid.  :'( Been too busy at work since the summer.

Thank you for finding it, I didn't know he was married.

Don't have a sub to view and a name search is not bring up subsequent death notice so might have to just search for Funeral and read them for that week.

Thank you for doing a search, this article was the only thing I could find too. But never thought to look for funeral listings. Good idea! I've had no luck looking for headstones on Billion graves and other such sites.

Hi, are there any roots-chatters in Northern Ireland who would be able to do a lookup for me at GRONI now it appears to have re-opened? The dates I need aren't online and I'm not travelling to Belfast any time soon (I live in Cornwall). I'd like to find the birth record for Leon Palmer born c.1924, died 30 Aug 1958 age 33 in a motorcycle accident in Portaferry. I'm trying to find out if he's the brother or half-brother of my grandpa, Basil Palmer. I can't find any record of the marriage of Basil's parents, Thomas John Palmer and Annie Thompson either and I know he was brought up by his grandparents.
Many thanks,
Rosheen

Kent Lookup Requests / Re: Plumbridge/Plumridge
« on: Friday 18 September 20 18:42 BST (UK)  »
Thank you, panda40 and Top-the-hill for finding out that the listing was only for banns not a marriage.
The plot thickens. There can't be many Plumridge/Kinnard records so I will assume that these are same people who are the parents of Edward Kinnard. Although I don't know what they were doing in Walmer.
trish1120 —Edward, son of Ann Cannard was born in the Workhouse and Edward Plumbridge named as Father on baptism record. What happened to Edward Plumbridge and why didn't his son take his surname?

Kent Lookup Requests / Plumbridge/Plumridge

Hi, does anyone have sight of the marriage registers for Walmer, Kent?
I need to see in the marriage between Edward Plumridge and Ann Kinnaird in June 1848, to see if it is a link to my family tree.
Many thanks.

Hi Christine53,
Thanks for your help and interest in this. I don’t think there was a marriage. It’s taken me years to find this record because I was originally thought Edwards father was called Edwin Kinnard/Kennard. When I found out Edwin died in 1841 that left me trying to trace his mother Ann (who was Irish).
She ended up in the Workhouse. I don’t think she married Edward Plumbridge because Edward jnr took his mother’s surname: Cannard/Kinnard. I hope that makes sense.
