Montgomeryshire Lookup Requests / 1851 CENSUS REQUEST MONTGOMERYSHIRE, SIMON
« on: Tuesday 10 February 04 15:05 GMT (UK)  »
Would someone please kindly look up the following in the 1851 census:-

John Simon, Llanwllchaiarn, Montgomery, Occupation: Skinner.  Unfortunately, I do not have his age.  His wife could possibly be Elizabeth.

I know his daughter Jane in the 1851 census was a servant (age 15) at Great Oak Street, Llanidloes, Montgomery .  When she married in 1853 her family were living at Pen-y-gloddfa, Llanwllchaiarn, Montgomery.

I have hit a "brick wall" with this SIMON family and any help would be most appreciated.

Thank you  :D

Thanks Valmai very much indeed  :D. & thank you for taking the time to look them up for me.

I'm not certain how I'm going to let you have my home address, I don't want to give it out on this site, for obvious reasons.  Do you have a scanner?  If so, you could send the scans as attachments to your reply to this message board (see the Attach: box below).  I don't know if it will work, but worth a try.  If not, then I'll have to think of another plan of action!!!

Thank you once again,

Jan Lloyd

Hello Valmai

Thank you for your prompt reply. :)

Bridgnorth isn't far away from Shrewsbury, it takes about half an hour's drive - what a small world!!!!!

I will wait to her from you once you have returned to work - enjoy your holiday weekend.

Regards, Jan

Hello again, I forgot to ask the following in my previous message  ::) :-

What records are you able to access?  Am I correct in thinking that NZ doesn't have census records like the UK?  If that is the case, how do you look up families - is it the Electoral Rolls?

Can you also get access to BMD records?

Thank you  :D

Would you please be kind enough to look up death records/obits for the following:-

Thomas Trow born 10 Feb 1868 Llandinam, Montgomery, Wales, died 27 Sep 1937 Auckland, NZ.  His wife Margaret Eliza Trow (nee Owen) born 7 Jul 1880 Newtown, Montgomery, Wales, died 24 Jan 1941 Auckland, NZ.  They are both buried in Waikumete, NZ (I hope I've spelt that correctly!).

They emigrated to NZ approx 1895 - 1896, their first son was born in 1897 in NZ.  They had a further 16 children!!!!!

Any information you find would be most appreciated.

Searching the CHALLINOR (Challenor) name from SHOCKLACK, Cheshire.

My GG Grandfather Richard Challinor was born 21 Mar 1830 Shocklack,  Married (1) Emma Hughes, (2) Jane Trow.

I am trying to find out who his parents were, his father could possibly James Challinor. ???
