Morning all
Doing a bit of research and trying to find my grandads brother who was killed in the war somewhere ..... no one really knows when n where .... he should come up in 2 of the census and I can find them but it’s coming up as document officially closed with 2 big black lines through where his name should be ...... anybody she’d any light
? Think he’s buried at the war cemetery in Aden but don’t quote me in that .....

I got my gran sarah McDowall Lamont her birth certificate army discharge papers etc , Nathaniel jnr death certificate 1940 in Glasgow he died , he had stomach cancer n they think was from the mustard gas in the war , also his marriage certificate , he also served in the 7 highland light infantry ...... what I can’t get is his birth certificate or his dad Nathaniel senior death certificate as says he died in South Africa 🤷♂️ I gotta run n get to work but thanks

Ah morning again ....
I’ve got my grans birth certificate which states Nathaniel and Annie Maria innes as mind n dad , I got Nathaniel jnrs death certificate which states his mum n dad ( Nathaniel senior n Jane ) also got a few other bits kicking about which confirms the names ..... was speaking to someone one ancestry page who was also looking for Hugh , think he was a distant relative of one of the wives 🤷♂️ Was him that said about Ballintoy and someone else has confirmed there was 3 Lamont families living in Ballintoy appx 1800 , think my next step is join the Irish page but been doing my grandads side aswell ( see post about watts family in newton nottage ) so prob be a week or so before I join it ...... thanks for ur input anyway 👍

If as someone said they were registered under the mother’s maiden name ( Lewis ) does this mean they will be known as David Lewis n not David watts if so it changes everything

Yeah I seen that for Robert , but couldn’t for the life of me figure out the second name of the family ( tapp ) ..... also found his birth certificate which only states his mum Jane , so must be along the right lines .... I had a Robert watts pop up that was born in usk Monmouthshire wales about the same time , I’ll need to sit down this evening or at the weekend n spend a couple of hours working it through again .... make sure am on the right line , thanks for your replies though n have a pleasant day , ( I’m at wrk ) Paul

Antrim / Lamont family Ballintoy 1800

Hi there all
In middle of doing my family tree and wondered if anybody has any info on the Lamont family that lived in the Ballintoy area approx 1800 ..... am looking for a Hugh Lamont in particular born 1823 my great whatever it is grandad , am sure he married a Mary Collins , moved to Glasgow had kids including Francis (1845 ) who again is one of my great whatever it is grandads ...... any info greatly appreciated ...... Paul

Hi there ,
Doing my tree on my grandads side and was just wondering if anybody has come across or got any info on the Watts family that lived in Newton Nottage wales appx 1860-1900
The Father was a Robert Watts ( my great whatever it is grandad ) he had sons one called David Watts again great whatever it is grandad who went on to have Thomas Watts who moved n lived his days in Porthcawl wales ..... think by all accounts they either had a farm or worked on a farm ..... any info appreciated , Paul .... think Robert was originally born in Devon about 1823 ......

Nathaniel jnr born 1896 married Annie Maria innes , that’s my great grandad , his dad Nathaniel born 1865 married Jane mcdougall that’s my great great grandad , his dad Francis Lamont( 1845) married Harriet Newsome great great great grandad his dad Hugh .......
