The above Link of Historical OS 6" to the Mile Maps, should enable You, to select an area of interest, and street views, over the various decades.

Technical Help / Re: Word read only on Android tablet

Well, the rename and save works on the tablet

Good, happy it worked. Just to add, the 'Re Name and Save'  can be prevented by setting a Password on the 'Read Only' option.

The Microsoft Link explains.

If one opens a 'Read Only' Word Document, the trick is to 'Save As', and rename the File Document, in this case on Your Tablet. When the re named File is re opened, it should now be Editable.

On Your Desk Top, You probably have the Word Documents set as 'Read Only', when they are Emailed. This can be reset, to remove this option.

Was He a Member of His Local British Legion ? If so,  It might be worth contacting Them, to enquire if They held any Service information on Him.

Family History Beginners Board / Re: Query on death certificate from Egypt

You may have come across the above Link already, and it's a long shot whether it has any further useful information for You.

I assume the recorded information on the GRO Certificate, was taken from the Public Health Department (Notice of Death?) Certificate, dated 5/1/1937 in Egypt, and this original was produced as evidence for compilation of the UK Record. Perhaps the cause, and date of death, was not recorded on the Egyptian Certificate.

Her father told her Gateford Road but she isn't 100% sure, it could be another road in Worksop

I'm not from the area so wouldn't know anything. Thanks

Possibly, 'Old Gateford Road', Worksop.

With respect to His Service Record, it might be worthwhile contacting the Colchester Branch of the British Legion, to enquire if Donald was a Member, and if so, do They hold any information on Him.
