(Across 2 posts due to number of attachments.)
I'm attaching nearby examples of numbers 60, 68, 70, 78, 80.
What is the address at entry no. 76 - Wood Cottages?

By the way, it doesn't appear near to other numbered addresses for comparison to them.

Family History Beginners Board / you are not the useless idiot you appear to be
« on: Thursday 24 June 21 16:07 BST (UK)  »
I just came across this nicely written introduction to family history research from Northumberland & Durham Family History Society.  https://www.ndfhs.org.uk/beginners/

It's not too long, not too short, and includes the wonderful line "at least you will be able to confirm that you are not the useless idiot you appear to be" (about taking notes of sources)!

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / 1861 census Edinburgh - poor copy
« on: Tuesday 22 June 21 20:05 BST (UK)  »
Please help me read the occupation of John Hutton age 13, 5th line down.  Plenty other lines given for context - his father John is a compositor, the man further down is a police constable.

Better copies aren't currently available from Scotland's People.

What is written in the Relationship column in the bottom row, for Frederick Percy?  It's got "ditto" (and a brace linking it to the child above) and then something else I can't read.

Hi all,

Which free software for GED files can handle a cousin marriage?

(And if there are several, which is your favourite?)

Thanks
