Devon / Martha GUPPY mother of Robert b1822
« on: Sunday 06 February 05 02:15 GMT (UK)  »
Have hit a brickwall   ???

I have a Martha Guppy listed as mother for a Robert Guppy:

Vital records index FHL Film 1279500
Gender:Male
Christening date: 31 march 1822
Recorded in: Hawkchurch, Dorset
Mother: Martha

after contacting the OPC for Hawkchurch, she was able to determine that Martha was an unmarried mother, but could not locate any record of Marthas birth, marriage, death etc.

So if anyone has come across this Martha born early 1800's (presumably)
Any info would be much appreciated
Thanks   ;D

;)Please would someone look up the following family for me on the 1891C:

This is how they appear on the 1881C;
Household:Tatworth
            Samuel. FOWLER
M    34    Male   Thorncombe, Dorset, England
      Rel: Head
      Occ: Carter Farm Labourer
Amelia FOWLER
M    32    Female Chard, Somerset, England
      Rel: Wife
      Occ: Lace Mender
Ruth FOWLER
                 11    Female Wambrook, Dorset, England
Mary A. FOWLER
                 9     Female Chard, Somerset, England
Wm. FOWLER
                 7     Male   Chardstock, Dorset, England
Albert FOWLER
                 4     Male   Chard, Somerset, England
Cathorline FOWLER
                 2     Female Chard, Somerset, England

??? I know that Samuel & Amelia are still alive as Samuel died in 1921 & Amelia died in 1937 & were both buried in Tatworth, but they don't seem to appear in the 1901 either :-[

Many thanks
