Dublin / Re: Mt. Jerome Cemetery Graves

Just taking the opportunity to say if there is anyone else would like a grave in Mount Jerome photographed, email me.

I need an exact reference though, I don't have time to be rummaging about.

I expect to do these for Maystan within the next two or three weeks, so contact me as soon as possible.

I can do that for you once the evenings become brighter.

Email me.

Costs don't enter into it - if you have the exact grave reference it's an easy thing to do.

It's all karma.

Foley Street was World's end lane, but I doubt that is where you're looking for as by 1886 it was Montgomery Street.

Here is a list of some names that have changed - there are many more:

Here is a list of old street names from Ken Finlay's excellent site:

Any chance it could be Hammond lane?

Corporation Place was the official name of Corporation Buildings ('The Buildings'). A pretty grim place by all accounts.

I'm not up on my parishes, but today it would be either thre Pro-Cathedral or Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Sean McDermott Street.

Smock Alley had a royal charter and was known as the Theatre Royal even more moons before the more recent one.

I'm not a genealogist, but I am in Dublin and am interested in my city's social history.
If I'm not out of Dublin working next year, I should be available for this.

I also have Treble Almanacks for 1818, 1822, 1829, Thom's for 1873, Pettigrew and Oulton's for 1842, Slater's 1846, Pigot's 1824.
These are in pdf form though and would need an exact name or address - I cannot search them very easily.

Dublin / Dublin 1850 and North Dublin 1912

Hello

I made the site for the Dublin City Directory of 1850 that I know many of you use.

Please be aware I have transferred this to its own domain now, and it is no longer at loughman.dna.ie but at its own address of http://www.dublin1850.com

Also on my site is Porter's Directory of North County Dublin 1912. It's more of a commercial once-off directory, but it may be useful for some people.

Best wishes
Trish Loughman
