John did marry Ann Price in 1842 so you are correct

Wow, many thanks for that valuable information both of you, very much appreciated.
I knew he was born in Wrekin District of Shropshire but have never somehow picked up any details nor did another researcher of the same family.

It is difficult even after looking at names of children in the next few generations but I lean towards the Barford line because of ages.

I believe the family did move between the neighbouring villages which does make it more difficult but in the 1841 the line I am following were mainly in Barford so I thought that was the village they came from. Many thanks for your imput ciderdrinker, I will study it shortly and see what conclusions I arrive at.

If anyone has access to the Barford PRs could they do a lookup for me of John Hiorns born around 1771. I believe he had a slightly younger brother named William. Looking for John's parents names and any information would be most welcome.

Surprise to see the birth place of wife Sarah as Foleshill but there again her mother was born in Coventry and no doubt the family lived there before moving to Stoneleigh where her father had been born.
