Not 100% sure of the house number, but this house and the one beside it have been replaced by a park that goes all the way back to the next street. Is anyone familiar enough with this street to know what happened to the homes that used to be there. My sister was there in 1956 for sure.

Lennox. Castle Hospital was NOT in Stirling. It was in Lennoxtown, about 4 miles west of Kilsyth. In 1958 it was a hospital for the mentally ill.

Hi Margie.  Everything I, or my diligent helpers found, is noted on these 3 pages.  May I suggest re-posting the inquiry with all the data you have and with your own questions.
Best wishes for a successful result, Rob.

Stirlingshire / Stirlingshire Motor Transport - Kilsyth
« on: Tuesday 16 July 19 16:47 BST (UK)  »
The above was a bus company operated by a George Jameison until about 1924 when they were bought out by Walter Alexander & Sons ltd.  I am searching for any information that may be available concerning either the company or Mr. Jamieson.

There is an excellent book entitled "Weavers, Miners, and The Open Book" by James Hutchison.
ISBN 0 9511362 0 8

It will tell you everything there is to know about the town.  There is also a whole series of books called "Times Past - Kilsyth" by Wm. D. Chalmers.  They have an excellent collection of photographs.  My father was on the Board of Directors of Walter Alexander & Sons Ltd. and supervised the building and staffing of the first bus garage there in 1924.   If you have any other questions, please send me a P.M. I will be happy to assist.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Are these 3 Sigantures Identical ?
« on: Tuesday 13 November 18 17:57 GMT (UK)  »
I have merged 3 signatures together and want to know if they as identical as they appear.
All opinions would be most welcome. One is from a Scottish document and two are from American documents. All are dated between 1860 and 1866.

Thanks in advance,
Rob.
