Antrim / Re: Stillbirth Research (Records of Interment)

Thanks to all who have responded. Much appreciated.

So the one and only means of progressing here would really be to apply for a stillbirth cert... is that correct?

Hoping this is posted in the correct forum...

Seeking information regarding research/records on stillbirths in the County of Antrim, specifically the stillbirth of a baby in 1960, at Larne Moyle Hospital.

Ultimately looking to discover place of interment (should one exist) but generally whether or not this is a researchable area and where to seek records in order to investigate further.

Any assistance very much appreciated.

Seeking assistance with research into birth mother - name possibly changed but not known for certain.

(*) Phillips
Born circa 1933
(Auburn hair & grey eyes)
Occupation given on adoption records as 'Gowns Sales-lady

She was the birth mother of a friend whom I am assisting with research - friend's name Laurence Phillips (b. 1952 London).

Information from the 'Church Adoption Society' as follows:

Mother and baby home: 32 Macaulay Road, Clapham, London

Forwarding address info submitted to adoption society as being, 214 Brecknock Road, Tufnell Park, London NW

She may have had connections with the US Navy HQ in London.

This is as much information as we have at the present time; any help/advice as to what may have become of her, greatly appreciated.

Have you tried Companies House, all companies have to be registered with them and I imagine they keep at least some records for defunct companies.  I've only ever been in touch with them regarding currently trading companies, but I can say they were always very helpful.

They are part of the Gov.uk website.

You should also try the County Record Office, they are the most likely place the records would be deposited.

Thank you both for your replies. Two sound starting points.

Many thanks.

Peter.

Hi All, thanks for your input.  I know nothing about this man's service as I can't find service records, burnt I guess.  I based my guess of RAMC on the first-aid crosses and the cap badge looking something like the shape of the RAMC badge.  The 1911 census has him living in Hulme, Manchester.  He married in Oldham in 1921 and died in Oldham in 1926 hence no family stories direct from the horses mouth!  As for the photo being taken in Blackpool he could have been training near there I suppose.

Thanks again

Bob

Definitely RAMC

The cap badge in Nicola's opening post certainly appears to be Royal Fusiliers, The RF were part of the London Regiment Territorial Force, forming 47 battalions during the Great War.
