Leicestershire / Smalleys and Eales of Stoughton
« on: Saturday 20 November 10 19:56 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

I've recently come across someone who keeps appearing with my ancestors in censuses, but I don't know what relation they are. I've found a marriage for them, Joseph Eales and Hannah Smalley in 1850 in Billesdon, Leics. Could someone do a look up for me please? I think the marriage more than likely took place in Stoughton as that's where my Smalleys were from.

Thanks

Sam

Hello

I am trying to find where the above was born. I know she married a Frederick Bolt at Church of Our Lady of the Holy Souls, Kensington on 19th April 1909. Her father was given as Patrick Joseph O'Connor, labourer. Her and her husband were living at 26 Edenham Street, Kensington at the time of the marriage.

I also know that she died in 1974 in Ipswich. But I cannot find a birth for her. The death record on Ancestry gives her DOB as 28/08/1887.

Could anyone help?

Regards

Hello Suffolk Folk!

I am trying to find a birth for Priscilla Chandler (she may have had the middle name Rose) in Framlingham. I would be interested in any info anyone could give me on Chandlers in Framlingham, as I've just discovered I have one of them!

Thanks

Essex / Little Dunmow Pub
« on: Monday 15 November 10 12:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

I've received the birth certificate for one of my folks, and at time of registration his parents were living at a pub they kept at Brook Street, Little Dunmow. This was in 1866. Does anyone have any idea what this pub would be, and does it exist today? It's a funny question, but it might just help solve a mystery for me!

Thanks Sam

Hello

I'm researching my partner's Jeffries ancestors. Arthur and Sarah had 5 children that I've found so far, all born in Kensington. These were Frederick b 1872, Charles 1874, Sarah 1878, Ada 1880 and Frank Herbert b 1890. It appears that Sarah died in 1890, and I can only find Arthur in the 1891 census, he is on his own at the house they lived in in the 1881 census. There is no sign of any of the children. I know that at least Frederick and Frank were still alive by the 1901 census as I've found them. But where were they on the 1891?

Any help will be appreciated.

Hello

I am looking for my Knifton family who were living in East Leake in the 1841 census. The mother and father were William Knifton and Ann (nee Walker). I believe William's parents were Robert and Elizabeth, but I only have this from the IGI.

Thanks

Leicestershire / Help with my Kniftons please

Hello

I'm trying to find out where my Kniftons fit in with other Kniftons in Leics/Notts. It is a fairly rare surname. The earliest I can find my Kniftons is in East Leake in 1841. There is William and Ann, and their children Elizabeth, Samuel, James and Emily. I am trying to find out where these Kniftons fit in with the others in the area. There are a few in East Leake and Wymeswold.

Thanks, Sam

Leicestershire / John Newbold Baxter
« on: Wednesday 10 November 10 17:09 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

Someone in my tree has the above name (he was born in Ibstock in 1860). Do you think his middle name was Newbold as that was his mother's maiden name, or do you think there was some other reason? He was the first child of John and Ann Baxter. I only ask as I can't find a marriage for John and Ann.

Regards

Sam
