On Ancestry
History of the family of Maunsell (Mansell, Mansel)

Outlines the family. Needs verifying though as it was researched many years ago but it is largely correct.

Children.
Elizabeth Maunsell b1798 married Thomas Smith of Barberstown, Straffan Co Kildare
Rev. Richard Maunsell 1799-1857 married Frances Brown
Rev. John Maunsell 1800 - ? Married Elizabeth Butler of co Clare
 George Maunsell born 1801
Ven. Rt Rev Robert Maunsell 1810-1894 married Susan Pigott 1815-1851
 Wyndham Maunsell 1812-1879
 Thomas Maunsell

Note ve. Rt Rev Robert Maunsell went to New Zealand, married secondly Beatrice Isabella Duncan Paton. He became the Archdeacon of Auckland. Lots online about him.

I don’t have much on son George though.

As an aside Rev Henry Rose was distantly related to the Maunsell family.

Family History Beginners Board / Re: Good software for beginner please

Unfortunately none of the software provides a subscription to a FH website.

Not quite true, Roots Magic often has 6months free Ancestry subscription when you buy the software but I think you may have just missed the last offer at Christmas.

Just to try and discount a recent death since 2020, you can do a quick check on the GRO website as they have deaths up to 2021 and also the HMRC probate search which is even more up to date.
Search online for an obituary too.

Technical Help / Re: Find My Past...how do I copy text from Census Pop Up window
« on: Monday 08 January 24 12:23 GMT (UK)  »
Well, I’ve learnt something new. I had forgotten about the popup transcripts as I had turned them off.

For me, it might be useful for an individual but not a family as I transcribe and share the info which I find a lot easier.

Had a little problem initially when Ancestry said they had taken the page down :o using Chrome.

Opened Edge and it worked fine, must have been my cookies as my last sub only expired today.

I remember Berlin bob being one of the very earliest when I had a very early look in… not much happening then but came back a couple of years later with a new login and stayed.

Well done Tristan and Sarah and thank you for keeping the site going through all the challenges.
