Hi Jenni,
Thanks for that.  Vanessa was kind enough recently to give me details on the Skidmore line and dates for the Green boys but I didn't have Hester or Elizabeth's parents.  Vanessa was the distant cousin I mentioned in my previous post.  Which one of George's children are you descended from? I'm descended from Ann.  :)

Good luck with your Greens Arranroots.  :)

From what I have, courtesy of a distant cousin here in Sydney Australia who is also a descendent of George Green, is that George's brothers and sisters were Maria b Sep 1798, Mark b 27 Feb 1803 and Samuel b 1810, his parents were Samuel Green and Hannah Simmonds.  I personally don't have a record of Jospeh.

I would be interested in information on Hannah Simmonds ancestors if anyone has any.

Cheshire / Peter Brown & Ann Hogan Ancestors
« on: Wednesday 06 September 06 07:25 BST (UK)  »
Hello, I'm searching for ancestors of my GG Grandparents Peter Brown & Ann Hogan who were married on 15 February 1858 in Stockport Cheshire.  They had some children in England (Thomas, Ann & William?) and emmigrated to Geelong in Australia: Arrived on the 'Marco Polo' 12th June 1865  from Liverpool Voyage of 140 days.

My great grandmother (Mary) was born in Geelong Victoria Australia on 23 December 1872 and on her birth certificate it says that Peter was born in Warrington Lancashire England, was 37 years old and was a Tailor.  It also says that her mother Ann was 32 and born in Stock Port Cheshire England.  Mary had older Australian born brothers and sisters Elizabeth Peter & Christopher, I'm not sure if there were others born after her.

Mary moved to Sydney NSW before marrying my Great Grandfather Henry Gabb, I'm not sure if her parents moved with her as they are noted as deceased on her marriage certificate, and there are way too many Peter and Ann Browns listed on the NSW BDM to even try to decipher without their parents names.

There is a family legend that "Ann Hogan" was a "great Dublin lady" who ran away with a "red coat", whom at this stage we think might be referring to Mary's grandmother rather than mother but at this stage we don't have confirmed names for Peter or Mary's parents.

I have printed off the form from Cheshire BMD for Peter and Ann's marriage certificate, can anyone tell me if that will have all parents names on it?

Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Gloucestershire / Walkley Family
« on: Wednesday 06 September 06 06:55 BST (UK)  »
Hi I'm looking for ancestors of the Walkley family in Gloucestershire.  My GGG Grandmother was Hester (also known as Ester) Walkley born around 1804, her husband was John Gabb and they were married 15 Oct 1826 in Kings Stanley, Gloucestershire.   Hester's parnets were listed on her death certificate as "unknown".  John & Hester emmigrated to Sydney Australia around 1838 with their three children William, Charles and Emma.  The only other thing I know about Hester is that she apparently had a brother named Thomas Walkley.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Gloucestershire / GABB FAMILY
« on: Wednesday 06 September 06 06:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi I'm looking for ancestors of Gabb family in Gloucestershire.  My GGG Grandfather was John Gabb born around 1808, his wife was Hester Walkley and they were married 15 Oct 1826 in Kings Stanley, Gloucestershire, his father was William Gabb, his mother was listed on his death certificate as "unknown".  John & Hester emmigrated to Sydney Australia around 1838 with their three children William, Charles and Emma.

There is a Gabb family listed on www.familysearch.org with a father William and mother Nancy Hill and brothers and sisters were Thomas Gabb b1791, Sarah Gabb b1793, Mary Gabb b 1796 & Richard Gabb b 1799, although it says that this particular John Gabb was born 1803 instead of 1808 but could be a data entry error?  Some cousins think this is the correct family for John Gabb.

If you have any information on this family I would really appreciate it.  Thanks.

Hello,

I am looking for information on

John Gabb who emmigrated to Sydney, Australia with his wife m 1826 (H)ester WALKLEY around 1837 and their two sons William (my gg grandfather) and Charles and daughter Emma.  They are listed as non-conformists.  John's father is listed as William on his death certificate, I don't have a name for his mother.

The family seem to have been located around Stonehouse and Kings Stanley in Gloucestershire.

Thank you
