Found the missing John Watson C 6 Feb 1825, Upleatham

Upleatham seems to have had a fairly healthy Watson population late 1700`s
try using this link to view them

Had a look at 1861 Census my vote goes to Tailors Widow

Hi

On 1841 Census Mary & first 3 children Richard, Dorothy & John are not natives of Durham.

1851 Census entry Sheila refers to has Mary Wattson born in Upleatham, Yorkshire.

From the IGI John Watson = Mary Burrow M 3 Nov 1819, Upleatham
with the following children Richard Watson, C 16 Oct 1820
& Dorothy C 10 Aug 1823 both Upleatham

Completed Census Requests / Re: Askham Parish Registers - COMPLETED

Jill

Sorry did not mean to confuse you it is the Christopher Bailiff 4 April 1723/4 I am interested in his burial date is what I am most interested in.

I have had actually a copy of the Askham Parish Register in my hand when I visited Penrith Library a couple years ago now I extracted all the Salkeld entries I was interested in but not Bailiff/Bailiffe/Bailey I now think our Salkeld family had connections with the Bailiff family of Askham in couple of ways

Thanks for your help

Hi Jill

I would appreciate an Askham look up on any Bailiff/Bailiffe BMD entries involving a Christopher Bailiff a Shoemaker by trade possibly from 1720`s onwards if it is not to much bother

Hi

Have you tried this website I have always found it a big help when it comes to finding out who was who in (Salkeld) Crosby Ravensworth & Maulds Meaburn a transcript of the Parish Register with all the info the IGI will not give up like which farms or area of the villages they lived on/at

The Parish Registers used to be seperate but are now consolidated into one list still worth a look though with plenty of CR & MM Ellwood/Elwood featured

http://www.btinternet.com/~grigg/

Also Crosby Ravensworth has its own Parish Archive so if you ever visit the village (highly recommended) make enquiries somebody might let you in to look at there various resources
