Hi

I wonder if this will help Salkeld is a good name to have mis transcribed in Census entries this entry could be mis transcribed as Saffield or Safkeld

1851 Census - Grassington, WRY HO107/2279 Folio 459 Page 22

John Salkeld, Head, Mar, 38, Lead Miner, Lancashire Eskit
Ann Salkeld, Wife, Mar, 37, Lead Miners Wife, Yorkshire Pateley Bridge
Walton Salkeld, Son, 3,            Home             , Yorkshire Grassington
Mary Ellen Salkeld, Daur, 1,      Home             , Yorkshire Grassington

This is the family of John Salkeld and Ann (nee Bentley) they married in the Skipton Reg District in the Sep Qtr of 1841.  Maybe you have a double Bentley connection there something to look at !

Hope this helps

Michael

Thanks a lot for the Bregazzi BMD`s a big help in coming up with some sort of time frame I also found a Bregazzi birth with Ann Humble as the mother in 1912 which is in the period I thought the pictures had been taken.

I found a Kelly`s 1914 Directory and 12 Norfolk Street had a photographer listed there but not Chris Bregazzi.

Also did a search of Kelly`s 1902 Directory and Wm E. J. Church he is listed at 119 High Street West.

Thanks for the help and all the best to you and everyone else at Rootschat

Wearsider

Thanks I have now found William E. J. Church in 1901 as Photographer in Sunderland  aged 29 so I suppose it is possible the Wm Church photos are older than I thought

Thanks for the directory lookup

Hi

If you are looking for any old photos or info on Murton and it is people you could do no worse than get in touch with the Murton Heritage Society they are based in the Glebe Centre in the village and meet most Wednesday evenings a small group of dedicated people who do the their upmost to preserve the heritage & history of a Co Durham mining village. They have hundreds of photos in there collection.

The Murton Heritage Society recently held an exhibition of its collection you can read about it here - http://oldphotoforum.com/blog/

Hope this helps
