Well done John, I think you are correct with the twins Thomas & Phillip. John & Mary Ann had all their children baptised in Little Missenden & yet only seem to have registered the twins births, strange, but perhaps they had their reasons.

Hi

There doesn't appear to be a marriage for this couple in Little Missenden or Rickmansworth but could it be this one at St Mary the Virgin Harefield.

John Hobbs married Mary Ann Jones, a widow, 20th April 1835. Witnesses William & Mary Ann Hobbs.

At the same church in Harefield a William Jones married Mary Ann Nevells 8th November 1829. Witnesses Sarah Woods & Mary Nevells.

Mary Ann Nevil (same name different spelling) was baptised 27th January 1810 in Rickmansworth, parents Joseph & Elizabeth.

Possible burial for William Jones 17th  February 1833 in Rickmansworth.

I can't find any birth records for John & Mary Ann's children on the GRO to confirm her maiden name, have you found any.??

Hi

John Young married Harriet Francis Sept 21st 1839, they were bachelor & spinster. Father's Daniel Young & Richard Francis. Son Henry was baptised Nov 17th 1840 to parents John & Harriet. Perhaps a mistake in her name on the 1841 census. :-\

Hi Trish

Unfortunately my Lunnon/Brown ancestry ended with the deaths of Joseph & Susan's children in the mid 1830s, daughter Mary in 1834 & son Henry in 1835. It is possible the male Lunnon birth reg you found may well be relevant to the OP Martin. I have tried looking for another Lunnon/Brown marriage but no luck so far. :-\

Hi Dette

With regard to your Edward born Henley there is a tree on Ancestry that does feature him with Mary Ann Maynard but his birth is 1822, parents John Lunnon & Hannah Bromley. This Edward is on all the previous census so is it plausible that his age at death is quite a few years out. :o  As he was aged 40 on the 1871 census something is wrong with his age still being 40 in 1875. :-\  I can't see a marriage for them but notice their eldest daughter Annie's birth was registered in 1866 as Annie Lonnon Maynard. Perhaps they didn't get round to marrying before Edward died.

Hope this helps & doesn't hinder :)

Hi
I'm not sure that this will be any help but here goes. I have an ancestor Susan Brown born 1798 in Wooburn who married in May 1818 Langley Marish to a Joseph Lunnon born 1799, presumably Wooburn as their twins were born there in Oct 1818. Joseph died in Dec 1818 in Wooburn & Susan went on to marry a George Beesley in 1823.

I believe Joseph was a son of Joseph & Rachel Lunnon who had a number of children in Wooburn including an Elizabeth born 1812. Elizabeth has an illegitimate daughter Sarah in 1830 with the father named as Henry Courtney, they don't appear to have married but there is a marriage for Elizabeth Lunnon to a James Holley in 1832. In the 1841 census, Piece54/Folio14/Page20  Wooburn is an Elizabeth Holley with children Sarah aged 10 & Edward aged 1 living next door to my Susan Beesley ex Lunnon nee Brown, no sign of James. I haven't been able to find Elizabeth Holley & her children in 1851 but there is a very similar family unit in your Elizabeth Lunnon with Sarah & Edward.??????  Strange thing is there is a burial record for Elizabeth Holley in Wooburn June 1858 aged 48.

I'm puzzled by James Holley as to who he was or what happened to him but one of the witnesses at his marriage to Elizabeth was a Lucy Holley. Unfortunately none of this really helps with your Edward as there doesn't appear to be any record of a birth or baptism for him anywhere.!!
