Thank you svb111 for the Quarter information and the offer of help, and also CaroleW for the link to the Cheshire board and information.

I am looking for a marriage of Joseph Woodhead and Jane Stafford in 1848 at St. Mary's, Stockport, Cheshire, which are held in Manchester Central Library
The reference for this film is Marriages-1847-1853- MFPR 379

If anyone is going to the archives and feels kind enough to look for this for me I would be very grateful.  I am looking for as much detail as possible... Father's names... occupations addresses... Witness etc.

Thanks in advance

I have also posted this on the Lancashire board as the records are kept at Manchester and also Stockport libraries, thanks.

Surely no reputable scrap dealer is going to melt these down without asking questions first ...

Diana, a native Mancunian in Chichester

Sorry to say, Diana.. it happened at Dukinfield Crematorium and Cemetery and the dealer melted them down.

Thats what I am thinking because methinks that they were either visiting or living in Rotherham at the time of John's birth... as he is the only one born there.  So.... if they were visiting William then Samuel would still be there if he wasnt with the Bradburys.... He is definitely no where else in 1871 unless he got a false name.

Sometimes it doesnt say it on the wedding certificate... maybe he forgot to say his dad died??!!

Trying to find him in 1871.... he is hiding from rent man I think!

Hmm where is Samuel in 1871 though...... He seems to have disappeared?  born c1845/6 in Stalybridge Cheshire but sometimes it is known as Lancashire....no idea why though!!

Where did you find them in 1841, I was having trouble in that census.
