Why not put up the names of the couple who married and someone may recognise the families and give the information you require.

Dublin / Re: Army barracks Butterfield, Co. Dublin

I know the Butterfield area quite well and have an old book on the area. Robert Emmet leased a house there while making preparations for his ill-fated Rising of 1803.  There were a handful of large houses in this area. I've heard that one of these large houses was originally some type of institution and I wonder if this is the address you are referring to.  Have you any other details, name, etc?

Tenants No More: Voices from An Irish Townland 1811-1901 was written by Phyl Frazer Simons.  The book is the result of a diary and actual collection of letters sent during the 1850s, to and from Ireland - America/Australia, by members of the Clay, Warren, Sutherland and Stanley families who resided in Geashill and Killeigh.  Several other families are mentioned in the letters and an index at the back of the book lists these.

Hi
Could you oblige and see if any of the Warren families appear in the 1901 or 1911 Census.  There were dozens of Warrens in that area during the 1800s and I am desperately seeking information as I believe my gg grandfather may have been from this area.

Sheerin is one of the families living in Geashill and mentioned in the book Tenants No More. Apparently this family had very little land and left the area. There is mention of a Thomas Sheerin (later spelled Sheeran).  Edward and Patrick Sheering are mentioned as leasing 4 acres in the period 1856-61. These may well all be the Sheerins you are referring to.  Hope this helps.
