Hi

It's me again, I see the board is still quiet and as I have quite a few photos needing restored I'm trying again.  :-[  :-[  If anyone fancies a go that would be great.  :)  :)

If the board gets busy just leave them or if no one wants to do them that's fine I will get round to it some day.   ::)  ::) ......retirement job  :D   :D  :D

A lot of my older ones I scanned pre the days of being wise on how to do it so I will have to get them back from my Uncle on my paternal side and cousin on maternal side and rescan...so look out  ;D   ;D  ;D ;D

This first one is my 3g grandmother Frances Burn nee Hall b 1824 in Inch Wigtownshire her parents were Irish, unfortunately in all census they just state b Ireland so can't get beyond them.  :-\  This Frances is the grandmother of  the previous Frances photo I posted.

Hi

Been working on some of the older photos that came from OH side of the family. This is his mother would anyone like to have a go at restoring/colouring please.  I haven't touched it yet but thought I'd put it up as it's very quiet just now.  I like to see the different interpretations  :)  :)

Another OH photo. This one is either his grandmother Isabella 1902 or g grandmother Janet 1883.

Have no idea about clothes  :-\

Hi

I am going through photos that came from OH fathers house.

I scanned this one and couldn't believe my eyes, the child has 3 dead foxes around her :(  never noticed when looking at photo, it's very small and faded. Trying to figure out who this is. These photos are from his mothers side so either

Rita 1922 or Isabella 1902 (or neither)  :-\

Hi Everyone

The board is very quiet and I have quite a few photos for restore and colour. I was so chuffed with the ones of my mum that I'm pushing my luck here and hoping someone might feel inclined to have a go at one or some of the 3 I will post :o :) :)

They are in not too bad condition but I'd love to see the results :)


Below is g grandfather Thomas Borthwick KIA  WW1
Second is his wife Frances
Third  taken 1932 is my dad and his brother Ian who died 2 months ago in NZ.

If anyone does fancy a go that would be great if not I'll get round to it someday :o :o :) :)

Thomas was in the KOSB's his Glengarry (I think its called) is top and bottom line of squares red/white and middle line red/black.

I'm off out to work soon so I'll maybe be pleasantly surprised when I get home  ;)

As the board is quiet I wondered if anyone would like to have a go at restoring in b/w or colouring this
photo of my mum aged 15  :) :)  My aunt has refused to give me this one for years but has finally relented after much pleading from me  :o :)

I have scanned it umpteen ways and it still comes out looking like this :(  I’m assuming it’s the photo (or maybe you can tell me the reason).  ???

I can smooth it out okay.  I just can’t seem to get the hair edges okay when adding to the photo to make it ‘square’ (aunt cut it to put it in a frame) There are not many photos of mum when she was young but I really like this one and would love to see any interpretations of it.

If any of you have the time I’d be so pleased  :) :) :) :)

She had mid blue eyes and darkish brown hair.

 This is a copy of a photograph my friend found in her grandmothers possessions. She is trying to figure out which side of the family it came from.

Could someone date from clothing etc. Any ideas on ages would be helpful too.
