I would say they immigrated in 1886 as son James was born in Yorkshire 1884. Thanks

In the 1910 Census, it says James was born in Massachusetts.  I also found the family in the 1900 Census in Fall River, Massachusetts with 3 older children that weren't around in 1910 - Albert, Annie, and Wilfred - and that says that James was born Feb. 1883 in Massachusetts.  The 1900 Census says they immigrated in 1881 and Sarah was born Jun. 1881.

In the 1910 Census, James C. Redfearn & wife Mary J. were in Haverhill, Mass. with sons James and Alec and daughter Sarah J.  It says James, Mary, and Sarah immigrated in 1886.

In the 1920 Census, James & Mary are still in Haverhill and it says they immigrated in 1883.

Just my opinion, but I really think it would be easier to keep all the information about one person in one thread.  If you have new information, you can post it to the thread that already exists and people will read it.

Also, I think I've posted this twice before, but the West Brighton address was not for Bernard - it was for the person listed below him.  The most recent address for Bernard, from the 1925 passenger list, is 650 North 38th Street, Philadelphia, Pa.

1910 Census, Chicago
11134 Parnell Ave.
Wilson, Arthur, age 41, married once for 19 years, born England, parents born England, immigrated 1892, naturalized, occupation hard to read - maybe foreman, car factory?
wife Annie, age 39, married once for 19 years, mother of 3 children, 2 of whom are living, born England, parents born England, immigrated 1892
son Herbert, age 15, born Illinois, parents born England
son James N., age 13, born Illinois, parents born England
father Randall, age 83, widower, born England, parents born England
brother-in-law Crowden or Crowder?, William H., white, age 20, single, born England, parents born England, immigrated 1906, alien, occupation - toolmaker, car factory

If Randall is the right father, he appears to be in the death index I linked to above and died in 1911.  I also found him and his son Henry on a passenger list from 1905  going to join Arthur Wilson at 11034 Charles Ave., Roseland, Chicago.

1930 Census, Chicago
11134 Parnell Ave.
Wilson, Arthur, owns home worth $12,000, owns radio set, white, age 62, married, age at first marriage -23, born England, parents born England, immigrated 1893, naturalized, occupation - inside trimmer in Pullmann factory, not a veteran
wife Annie, white, age 59, married, age at first marriage - 21, born England, parents born England, immigrated 1893, naturalized, no occupation
son Herbert, white, age 35, married, age at 1st marriage - 30, born Illinois, parents born England, occupation - inside trimmer in Pullmann factory, was a veteran
daughter-in-law Edna, white, age 29, married, age at 1st marriage - 24, born Illinois, father born Holland, mother born Iowa, no occupation
grandson Raymond, age 5, born Illinois, parents born Illinois

If this is the right family, I also found them in Chicago in 1900 and I found Herbert's WWI Draft Registration card.

There are databases for Illinois deaths and other things here:  http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/databases.html  Looks like some of the Waller and Cowood families might be on the 1916–1950 index.

Occupation - asst. chief clerk, car dep't., Pullman Car Works, Cottage Grove Ave., Chicago

Didn't we figure out that the 650 North 38th St., Philadelphia address was the right one?  That would have been more recent than the Simpson address.
