Does anyone know where I can find records from the Scillies? I think some of our Jackson's may have come across to Penzance from there.

Australia / John Henry Briscoe
« on: Monday 21 October 13 14:23 BST (UK)  »
I have discovered via a distant relative that John Henry who was born in Birmingham appears to have joined the Australian Army and married in Brisbane in 1918.I cannot find any record of his emigration from the UK,is it possible he joined the forces at the beginning of the war and emigrated then without it being recorded here in the UK.how would I go about trying to trace him?

The Lighter Side / Not sure how to proceed
« on: Wednesday 09 May 12 13:41 BST (UK)  »
Let me explain,I have a ancestry subscription and whilst browsing discovered a tree with my Father in law on it.It also has his mother and father there.I've contacted the owner and she is the ex-wife of one of FIL's uncle's great grandson's.She has the marriage for the parent's and a name for the father's father not possible as as far as I have been told  he and his brother were illegitimate. Not really sure as she's an ex-wife how much info I should give her.I suspect that Dad's father used his names as those of a father.Sorry to be so long winded.
