London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Re: 1891 & 1901 Census - Stephen William Bray

Although he's been transcribed on his own in 1911, that's because he's the only entry on one page, coming at the end of a long list of what I think are shop assistants living in at a large premises in Newington

Stephen isn;t on 1891 of course, but this seems to be the most obvious family, given Edith was b St saviour Southwark. They are at 186 Southwark bridge Road. Father is an engineer's turner's from Chasewell, Cornwall. The rest are from Southwark. William jnr is a draper's clerk, and Stephen was a draper's assistant when he enlisted (I note his home address by the end of WWI is in Eastbourne)

William Bray    37
Maria Bray    35
William G Bray    15
John A Bray    13
Walter T Bray    11
Edith M Bray    9
Lillian T Bray    4

No luck on 1901 yet, but in 1911 the parents  are at 3 Hart Street, Cripplegate E C with Walter, Edith and Lillian. Father is a wholesale draper. However, I note the census claims 5 children, 5 living , which counts out Stephen!

St James' Church (Church in Wales)

The Church of St James is a mission church at the village of Godre'rgraig.
The village of Godre'rgraig is about a mile and a half from Ystalyfera.
It was founded in 1914, first as a Parish Hall for Godre'rgraig, but  became a dual purpose church and hall in one.
Seating capacity of 120.

If you look up Ellen or Henry Glover in sussex in 1901 you will find them running ?? Common Industrial School in the parish of Chailey. Full of young lads. This is the same parish as Portslde School - but not sure if it is a predecessor to the 1902 establishment

Francis also almost definitely has the offspring of more than one of his children there in 1891 as Robert and Sarah are both b 1892, one Jan- March the other July - Sep. I suppose it is possible they are just nine months or slightly less apart!

Well Dora b 1888 is Elizabeth's - she's with her and her 72 year old husband (correct looking at the image) on 1901

Francis has a number of children who could be the parents of Robert, Agnes M and all the other little Woolleys living with him in 1891

Emma Wooley    b c1850  [1861 census]
Martha Wooley    b c1850   [1861 census]
Edward Wooley    b c1853   [1861 census]
James Wooley    b c 1856   [1861 census]
Elizabeth Wooley  b c 1857 (with him on 1891)
John Thos Woolley  b c1858 [1871 census]
Mary Ann Woolley  b   c 1863  [1871 census]
Francis Hy Woolley    b c1867  [1871 census] - a little unlikely

I'm not sure what happens to Henry - i can;t see him on 1851. By 1861 Sarah is a widow rather than married, with two further daughters. There are christenings on Familysearch of a son and daughter of Sarah between 1851 and 1861 but with no father listed
