You may find he would have advertised his products in the local directories in the area and local newspapers.

What he sold would have depended quite a bit on where he was and how big he was. He may have sold associated products - fencing to go with wooden posts, staples for the fencing and possibly nails and screws.

Hello Chapmag,

Non-conformist registers can be difficult to track down as not all were given over to the General Register Office. Many have remained with the ministers of the church or they could be in your County Record Office. The difficult one is working out what sort of religion they were  ???

There is a national Index or Registers which should be available at the local Archives.
