Hello both, Thank you very much for that info. I'm wondering how Hamlet came to be in Scotland as he was born in Burslem,Staffs and would only have been about 16 in 1822,  Soon after the marriage he returned to Burslem .Very odd! Best wishes Holden

Hello Jane, Thank you very much. It is the correct family from the names and ages of the children. Judith must have been baptised somewhere other than Wellington. Best wishes Holden

Hello Handm, Sorry. The methodist church is Burslem Zoar/Bethel. The fiches are at Hanley library archives and probably at Stafford record office as well. I looked at the 1851-1944 fiches. I can't remember if there are any before then. There were a number of methodist churches a t Burslem of the various kinds. My family were methodist new connection but I think there are Wesleyan and Primitive ones as well. They can be better than Anglican ones as sometimes they give what the number of the child is in the family, maiden name of mother and also her father's name and occupation as was the case with the one I've looked at. Hello Dudley. I don't think the William that was registered was him as it was in Burton whish is not near Burslem. The baptism and burial were at different churches. The baptism was at a methodist church and all their children were baptised at methodist churches. The burial was at St Paul's in Burslem where the father John was buried in 1869 and 2 of their other children were buried as there were no burials at the methodist churches then. Holden
