Suffolk / Re: William Moore
« on: Monday 04 February 08 22:19 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

IGI has parents as William and Mary. I have had a look through Phillimores but cannot find a match in marriages in Combs.

Edit
IGI does have a marriage of William Moore to Mary Elsden in Walsham Le Willows in 13 Oct 1780; this is not too far from Combs.

Sussex Lookup Requests / Re: Seymour Street, Brighton. 1891.

Looks as though it should be in Enumeration district 11 but it isn't ! I looked through it and it does Portland Place to the left and Paston Place to the right but I cannot see Seymour street in there at all.

Sussex Lookup Requests / Re: Information on Thomas Vennall of Rye
« on: Saturday 26 January 08 21:42 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Madmax,

Went for a quick look on the Sussex marriage Index for you. This might be your Thomas.

Thomas Vennal of Tonbridge, Kent m Phyllis Edwards of Rye (with consent of guardian) 4th Oct 1780 Rye, Sussex.
Witnesses William E and Elizabeth E

[Could there have been a transcription error and witness might be William G ?]

So keep an open mind on that one.

Edit
There are 3 IGI sources that have him as being born in Smarden in 1757 and marrying a Susannah Ottaway in 1782 in Smarden but it is not an extracted record I think.
