Wexford / Re: John Connolly (too many variations of this surname)

Hi,  Thanks very much for your prompt reply and for the information.  I will try to contact the parish directly as you suggest.

Yes I had found baptism of Margaret Mary Connolly - the family left Ireland for the UK between 1864 and 1867 as the other two children of the marriage were born in Liverpool.

Do you know the name of the Ballymore Church I need to contact by any chance?

Thanks once again.  Issy.

Wexford / John Connolly (too many variations of this surname)

Looking for the baptismal record/parents/siblings of John Connolly, born in Mayglas, Ferns, Co. Wexford in 1822, the information is from Regimental Service Records.  John unlisted in 1842 aged 20 at that time.  He served for 21 years and then married Alice Scallon in Rathangan Parish in 1863.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Katharine,  Thanks for your interest in my posting.  I am researching the Connolly family on behalf of my husband but unfortunately he has not completed any DNA testing.  I would be pleased to share any information with you if you so wish.  Thanks Isi.

Thank you 'aghadowey' and 'hallmark' for your input.
It looks like we will have a long trawl through the church records as we don't have the correct ages of the Gilmore girls or in which parish they were baptised.
Thanks once again.
Isi.

Down / Catherine and Mary Anne Gilmore of Grallagh.

Seeking information on Catherine and Mary Anne Gilmore of Grallagh.
On 1911 census they are aged 34 & 32 respectively and farmers also Roman Catholic.
Mary Anne was present at the death of her grandfather Hugh Henry of Rathfriland.
Their mother was possibly Hugh's daughter Margaret Henry born 1856.  Need to confirm their birth and parents marriage etc.
Would be grateful for any help.

PS   The Henry family were from the Warrenpoint/Clonallon area.

Hi,

Thought it was an illegitimate birth but could not make out what the rest of it said.

Thanks once again, you have been very helpful.

Regards.  Isi.
