Scotland / Re: grave lair registered / extrract of birth request 1853

You could try to find the Lair Holder's List and in old churches still operating they hang in the church. But, those that were eventually stashed in drawers have pretty much been consumed by mold.

They are a mere list of names, no dates except in larger churches with a larger burial ground some dates are included.

However, every family member of the original Lair Holder does not have to be a Lair Holder they could be and were allowed to be buried in the same Lair depending on the size of the original lair and settling.  I have 14 buried in one lair over a 155 year span a mixture of adults and children.

If you are actually seeking a list of every person in a lair you won't find one unless you have access to the burial book.  As long as there is room in the lair for more (settling), they can and did keep adding to it.

I took a quick look.  Ontario doesn't have a BMD database.  You have to use Census/Family Search/Newspapers.

I suggest you search here https://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/census/Pages/census.aspx which includes 1921 which I think has your Charles, he claims he was from Wales.

The is having all daughters and not knowing if they married and to whim it becomes a bigger task.

Family Search have a lot of Bevan records in Hamilton perhaps they are here.  There is a death of an Eunina Bevan in 1907 Age 63 which is probably a bad transcript of Emma.

Scotland / Re: Missing ancestor James White was born in 1858

Tough crowd all I asked for was mother/stepmother names.

I looked at many deaths using 1858 (+/- 1) since he was born January and he doesn't appear he died in Scotland.  Unless he wasn't identified.

I also looked at a few marriages.

One fitting his age, birthplace jumped ship (Cuzco) in 1890 Victoria, Australia
One died in NYC, NY several more in New England.
One died in W. Derby, Lancashire 1901.
About a dozen can be found of the same age emigrating the US and Canada and subsequently many deaths pop up.

The death W. Derby is also on Ancestry "White Tree" father James mother McKay and Grandparents John/Janet Begbie (is this true?).  If so then then I would start there.

Would be helpful to include his mother and stepmother's names.

I have never had a cap problem but sometimes I wish I did.

I had a rejection once it was because I used another card.

He was a Farmer at Sunnyside (Reston), she was also from Reston so...

Robert b 1915 Coldingham is one (I peeked).

So...you go to Scotlands People search births Coldingham and you will find 12 in total.

Download the obvious such as John, Nettie Kinghorn; William Bell and then check some of the others.

Have fun.

Go to http://catalogue.nrscotland.gov.uk/nrsonlinecatalogue/welcome.aspx

Select Search then under Reference type in CH10 which is all they have on Quakers.
For date from 1500-1800 or whatever you want and his the red Search button.

This means you either have to visit Edinburgh and view the records or send them an email and request a search which can be expensive if you are seeking multiple searches.

Family Search has only Aberdeen (Maxwell Strath) and David Dobson which I believe were excerpts from Strath.

Sorry I can't think of any other sources.
