Wiltshire Completed Lookup Requests / 841,1851 census lookup please
« on: Monday 25 February 08 05:42 GMT (UK)  »
Hi rootschatters,
I am on the trail of
John Brunsden (Brunsdon, Brownsdon) b aprox 1830ish from Amesbury in the 1841 and 1851 census.
The 1861 census should have him recorded with wife Maria Tinham living at Amesbury. Sorry I dont have much to go on. Am looking this up for a friend who has just begun his family research and is only just starting out with a "few bones" so to speak  ;)
Any help is kindly appreciated.

Many thanks, Jean. Your a legend!  :D
Dont think the Maria Tinham June qtr 1868 is my Maria as her age is too old. John remarried in Australia 1860 and had 4 children with his second wife.
Thanks for your help.  ;)

Wiltshire Completed Lookup Requests / BRUNSDON/TINHAM marriage
« on: Monday 25 February 08 02:25 GMT (UK)  »
Good Morning Rootschatters,

Was wondering if some kind soul could do a lookup for me please. I am keen to confirm a marriage between the following

John Brunsden (Brunsdon, Brownsdon) and Maria Tinham (Tyneham) at Amesbury, Wiltshire 5th February 1853. Failing that perhaps there is a record of Maria's death aprox 1860. ::)
Many thanks in advance

I have just found the plot no. for my G G Grandfather who was buried within the grounds of Burngreave Cemetary and was wondering if any kind soul who lives nearby would be willing to do a lookup of the MI  or even take a photo of it. Apologies if the weather is presently fierce there (I'm from OZ where it's currently 28 degrees  8) ) I dont expect anyone to brave horrible weather but would appreciate someone keeping my request in mind next time they are venturing in that area.

The particulars are as follows
Abraham Denial (accountant)
Plot no. L1 38
Burial date 11 August 1881
Burial no. 32082
Unconsecrated section

Many thanks in advance

Yorkshire (North Riding) / Re: Harland Family in Whitby & Middlesbrough
« on: Saturday 09 February 08 00:07 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Anna and Catherine,
I have looked for Mary and William Hodgson, Fylingdales and Ann and Thomas Hart in the probate index.  There are 7 William Hodgson's and 3 Mary Hodgson's but unfortunately none from Fylingdales.   I also have 2 Thomas Harts, 1 from Ellerburn and 1 from Thornton but both executors not testators. If you think any of these may be relevent let me know and I will post the probates.

Cheers

Hi Ladies,
Found this in the 1858 probates which may refer to your John Harland of Lythe.

Letters of administration of the personal estate and effects of John Harland late of Lythe in the county of York laborer a widow deceased who died 15 November 1857 at Lythe aforesaid were granted at York to Ann Corney (wife of William Corney of Lythe aforesaid joiner) the only child of the said deceased she having been first sworn.
Probate granted 15 December 1858 effects under 20GBP

I also have a few more Harlands in the probate data base namely one Mary Harland from Whitby however not living in the UK I'm not sure of areas near and around Lythe and Whitby. Some of the probates are from Kirby Wiske and Willerby. Let me know if you would like these as well.

Cheers
Bronwyn  ;)
