Thank you Peter and Ian.  To answer your questions, Ian, the child is a 4 year old boy, picture attached.  I've tried tiff but would not upload.

Thank you so very much for your comments.  You are so right, there is another child, but whether he was actually in the corner where the light hit the camera, who knows?  I have tried to enlarge that corner,  not sure it is much better.

The style and shape of the house looks similar to Lady Wimborne cottages in and around Wimborne, Dorset probably late Victorian,  however the chimneys look more like Elizabethan.

Wonder if it is  Taquigrafia Marti which I was taught 50+ years ago in Brazil.   Supposed to be useful for Portuguese and English.  Google appears to show the symbols.  Wish I could remember what I learned.

The Common Room / Re: Crime - anyone ever found mugshots?
« on: Sunday 27 October 19 21:29 GMT (UK)  »
I went to an exhibition at the Museum of London in 2015 called The Crime Museum Uncovered.  It had exhibits of notorious criminals and mugshots of some not so notorious.  Perhaps you could check  out The Crime Museum in London.
