US Lookup Requests / MacDonald's Scotland to Connecticut
« on: Tuesday 19 May 09 20:26 BST (UK)  »
Hi All

I am looking for any information on 2 brothers who emigrated from Scotland to America.

First was James MacDonald born 6th Aug 1873 in Blackford Perthshire
Second was Duncan MacDonald born 3rd Feb 1891 in Muthil Perthshire.

Parents were James MacDonald and Jane Anderson.
I don't know when James emigrated but Duncan arrived in the U.S. 26th March 1911 aboard the Caledonia.

I would like to know what happened to them. ???

Good afternoon all

I wonder if anyone can help with this one, I have used ancestry's current offer to search for military records of those gone before but no matter what I try I cannot find the above person.
S/43256 Pte Alexander Finlayson Born 19th June 1896 Died 21st Mar 1918 in France. I have his medal card, I had no problems finding his brother's service record. I assume that they joined the colors together. I would also like to find his brother in law's service record I believe that all three served together for a time with the 6th Bn Black Watch his brother in law was Pte Alexander MacDonald born Muthil Perthshire 13th June 1886. He was wounded in 1916.
The link below is mainly about his son but give some information on Alexander senior.
