Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Clean up & date, please
« on: Sunday 24 February 08 15:34 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
Can anybody date this photo please.
The blonde child is suppose to be my dad, but I'm doubtful because dad was born in 1941 and I didn't think coloured photo's were about then.

Like Sparkle, we tend to throw the important stuff away too - sorry, I mean 'put it away safely' (never to be seen again  ::))
So the oldest original in my collection is mum's birth certificate - 1938

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Re: Woodbridge Mary Ann
« on: Tuesday 19 February 08 09:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Pam,
What area do you think she may be living/born in?

On the 1861 census there are many Mary/Mary Ann Woodbridge's born in the 1850's.

This is the only Mary Ann that gives 1857 birth year:
Feckenham, Worcestershire.
James Woodbridge, Head, 61, Labourer, Feckenham, Worcestershire
Mary Woodbridge, Wife, 57, Gt Alne, Warwickshire
Mary Ann Woodbridge, 4, G Dau, Feckenham, Worcestershire
Harriet Woodbridge, 1, G Dau, Feckenham, Worcestershire

Ancestry has it transcribed as Feckenham, Worcestershire, but the image looks more like Warwickshire to me  :-\

BMD has Fanny Gertrude Rowe, 3rd Qtr 1873, Newton Abbot.

1871 census:
Newton Abbot, Devon
George Rowe, Head, 27, Printer, Cornwall
Elizabeth A Rowe, Wife, 22, Devon
Charles W Rowe, Son, 4, Plymouth
George B Rowe, Son, 2, Plymouth.

Can't see this family in England on the 1881 census, so I think it might be the one you found in Scotland, Elaine, especially as George's occ. is the same.
