Thanks, I'm afraid this isn't him.I think Benjamin must have been "farmed out" somewhere.Elizabeth would have only just been widowed when the census was done and probably at her wits end with five children under 8.I just don't know which areas to look at.Many thanks once again for the reply

The Common Room / PRIOLEAU 1780 onwards Hugenuet?
« on: Tuesday 01 February 05 17:19 GMT (UK)  »
I am researching the name Prioleau to no avail.I beleive it could possibly be of Hugenuet origin. The name up to now has been  transcribed as PROLEAN,BIOLEAN,SRIOLEAU and PRIOLEAU although the last is the most likely because the family was quite educated and the name carried on as a middle name for two generations after as that.Elizabeth Prioleau born around 1780 married Hugh Hartley ,an architect in Bakewell in 1815.If anybody can give me any ideas on how to research this name I would be most obliged.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1841 AND 1851 CENSUS --BENJAMIN PRIOLEAU HARTLEY
« on: Tuesday 01 February 05 17:01 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to trace two Benjamin Prioleau Hartleys.
The first on th 1841 census Benjamin Snr(born 1817 Derbyshire) with his wife Elizabeth(born 1821 Pendleton,Lancashire). On the 1851 census Benjamin Snr was not shown ,he died 1850.I found the family on MF/90 91 Moss Side Hulme but Benjamin Jnr is not on it .I would be delighted if somebody can find him .He wasborn approx 1848-1850 in Broughton,Salford.

Cumberland Completed Lookups / Ann Roney Workington
« on: Tuesday 01 February 05 16:30 GMT (UK)  »
Can anybody please help with finding Ann Roney for me?The only things I know about her is that she was born 1824/25 in Workington. She married William Braithwaite (no date)from the Eskdale region. They  only had one son, Elijah , born 1864 althougth I know they had been married a good number of years before he was born.I am particularly interested in her baptism records and details of her on the 1841 and 1851 censuses. The slightest help to trackdown my brickwall would be very much appreciated.
