New Zealand Completed Requests / JAMES marriage 1926/7 *COMPLETED*
« on: Thursday 28 October 10 12:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I'm new to searching outside the UK and hope someone will be able to help.

I'm looking for the marriage of an A R James born Lambeth 1895 (he used Albert Raymond, Alastair Ronald and Andrew Raymond at various points in his life  ::)) to Jessie Hewitt born, I think in 1891 in Northumberland.

Their son tells me they married in NewZealand around 1926/7 and he was a steward on Cunard ships but jumped ship in NZ.

He has a reference for him written in Auckland in 1928 where he worked on the New Zealand herald for 2 years so I'm hoping they married in Auckland.

Any help gratefully received, many thanks  :)

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Help with brides name please

Wow wonderful thank you everyone  ;D ;D  I've been tearing my hair out wondering which of the Ediths in census were her.  I've not got access to the LMA records so that's great thank you Mort  :-*

I'd seen the 1881 entry and it's the only one in the area with James as father just the wrong occupation.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Help with brides name please

This is a certificate I have just received and I'm having trouble with the brides third name.  It doesn't help that it looks like it's been circled because it's spelled differently top and bottom.  It also doesn't help that I can't use my scanner and have had to photograph it and crop it in paint  ::)

Thank you for any suggestions.  ;D

Many thanks

Shropshire Lookup Requests / Re: Philpots of Pontesford help!

Most definitely Ian  ;D ;D ;D 8)

All those Philpot marriages appear on the huuuuge family tree my grandad had,  stemming from one couple in the early 1700's  (Ians is there too, til they nick off to Lancs in the 1800's)  so if you ever need Plimmer heritage instead of Philpot, I've got lots  ;D

Tipton is the surname to marry if you're a Plimmer!  At a quick glance at that tree there are at least 6 Tipton/Plimmer marriages!

Hi Ian  ;D

Hi Zen,

The Sarah Philpott that marries Aaron Plimmer is my GGGG Grandmother, I've not found a connection between her and Benjamin but it doesn't mean there isn't one!
