Thanks for that.  I have seen that record but my Mary was Mary Ann.  Her father was Thomas.   It is very confusing because there seem to be 2 Harland families with children with same names.  I think.  There is also some confusion about the maiden name of Mary's mother.  In some records I get Gardner and in some I get Liddle.

Regards.
Annie.

Hi, All,
Can anyone help me with a bit of a mystery?  I have spent ages trying to find what I can about my G Grandmother, born Mary Harland in Co Durham.  We were always led to believe that she died in 1902 when she gave birth to my Grandfather.  She was married to a Williams and my Grandfather was born in Sep 1902.  I have looked in census records and can find no trace of a death of a  Mary Williams aged between 25 and 35 in Thornley, Co Durham.  Any ideas?  I am baffled.

Regards,
Annie.

Thanks Iria.  A big help.  I am VERY new to this and am finding it quite confusing.
Is it just me, or are all the newcomers baffled to begin with?

Hi, Kris,
Thanks very much for that.  I am having trouble working out who his siblings might be.  There are so many Prouts...
