Cornwall Completed Lookup Requests / Re: PARSONS
« on: Tuesday 20 January 09 23:10 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, All,
I have finally solved the mystery!
Ivy Langdon was the daughter of Eliza Langdon - father unknown.
The reason we had so much trouble finding her was that she was registered as Florence Harvey Heard Langdon.  I can only assume that somewhere along the line, Harvey has been mutated into Ivy (?)  She did marry as Ivy Florence Langdon.
One less headache for me. :)
Regards,
Annie.

Hi, Kris,
A very Happy New Year to you.  :)
I am still going round in circles regarding the John Prout of St Teath parentage mystery.
Even though I cannot find the information on line, would it be worth my while visiting the parish church to look at their records?
Is it a case of - if it is not on line then it does not exist?
Regards,
Annie.

Thanks ever so much, Kris and Heywood.   :)

That has been a huge help.  I will now look again at my info and, hopefully, tie it in with what you have given me.

Regards,
Annie.

Cornwall Completed Lookup Requests / CHENOWETH Children
« on: Friday 15 August 08 23:19 BST (UK)  »
Hi, All.
Could someone please help me to sort this out? ???

In 1841 I have found John Chenoweth 70
Susan Chenoweth 20
Elinor Chenoweth 8
John Chenoweth 2
Henry Chenoweth 1
Sarah Prout 5

They are in Tregoodswell, Lanteglos.
The John and Susan fit my family -  Susan Chenoweth, c 1820 married John Prout in 1843, and her father was John Chenoweth, c 1773.  However, I have tried to trace Elinor Chenoweth, John Chenoweth,  Henry Chenoweth  and Sarah Prout from that census with no success.

Does anyone have any ideas where they fit in?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Annie.

Well, I am so grateful.
Thankyou so much, althea.
I have  Jacob as the husnband for Caroline, but knew nothing of their family, and I did not know where Susan was in 1881.
Much appreciated   ;D

Hi, Wozzle,
I think I have found my Susan in 1871, Widow, Victoria Place, Lanteglos, living with son, Richard.  The ages for Susan and Richard are right.  Your death for John Prout fits.  In 1891, I think she is living alone in Lanteglos, aged 72, receiving parochial relief.
Regards,
Val.

Thanks, althea.
This is one of the mysteries in my tree.
I have looked at the Cornwall OPC in the past and found nothing.  The only other explanation I can think of is that the name Isaac was transcribed wrongly in 1851 (although what it could be, I don't know!) and his death may be listed by another name, assuming he died, of course.
Regards,
Annie.

Well, Ricky,if Wozzle is anything like me , it doesn't take much!
Seriously, I have a feeling Isaac must have died in infancy but I have not found a record of his death.
I have a few people in my tree that I know married and died, but I can't find records of their births.
When I took on this tree business, I had no idea that it was so difficult.
Then again, maybe it is just me!
Annie  :)
