Frank Cooper b 1867 Sheffield m Sarah Ann Strickland bNewton Lancs 1870
In the 1891 census they were living with John and Elizabeth Strickland with children Eleonor and Sarah E.
No sign of them in 1901 census.New pair of eyes needed to look

Hi
Can anyone find the Wainwright family in 1901.In the 1891 census I have the following details
Ezra Wainwright [27] b Sheffield
Eliza nee Strong[26] b bingham notts
Alfred[s.][5]b.Sheffield
Ernest[3]             "
Ethel[1]                "
I cant find Ezra's death but it seems Eliza died 1913.
If anyone can find this family on the 1901 census I would be most grateful
Thank you

hi Ady
Thank you for the information.Acorn St was in the heart of Industrial Sheffield. It no longer exists as such.My interest is purely for my Mum and her sister 88 and 93 years old respectively. They still remember Mrs O' connor sitting on her doorstep weeping into her apron. When they asked her why she was crying she would say "Thoughts just thoughts"She had her own memorial attached to the wall of her house and as I said was always at the Sheffield Memorial Armistice Day.I think its such a sad story that i would like to know more of the family and find out how many sons and where they died and what happened to the husband
The problem is of courseMrs O' Connor may have moved since the start of the war or one or more sons may have married.
I've looked in 1925 Kelley's Directory with no joy but not everyone was listed in it.I will post any information I clean

World War One / O'Connor Sheffield Connection

Hi
I know this is a bit of a long shot but I'm trying to find the deaths of O'Connor brothers in WW1.
I know so little of them except their mother lived on Acorn St Sheffield during the War.She lost her sons, dont know how many and maybe her husband.
She had their names on a memorial plaque on her house wall and always headed the Armistice day prossessions.
I've looked on CWG but without knowing their first name its guesswork
Has anyone else any ideas
Thank you

Hi Margaret lizdb
Found it!Thank you both for your input. As suggested Liz I went onto Ancestry which I've used before but somehow alot of the images are missing. However this time I just entered a surname above Strong and the image appeared. As Margaret had searched upto 1938,this spurred me to look beyond and found he married Alice M Howsam Jun qtr 1946 so thank you very much both of you
