Carlow / RE:- Marriage Look UP
« on: Friday 31 October 08 17:33 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Can anyone help, I have been trying for a few years now to locate a Marriage, have looked everywhere I can think off, but can't find anything.

Owen Morris to Mary McDonald or MacDonald in about 1865 - 1871.

Owen is from Tullow, Carlow, according to 1881 Census, his first child that we are aware off is born in Jarrow in 1870, but Jarrow, Scotland, England and Wales Marriages throw nothing up for Owen getting married in those places, so am now wondering if he got married in Ireland before coming to England.

On one Census his wife Mary is born York, but am now wondering if this could be Cork.

Marys surname originally came from my Great Grandmother, and reading through this, it maybe that her surname was'nt Macdonald, but something else entirley.

I know this is a long shot, but if anyone can help, would be much appreciated, as this is the only brick wall I now have.
Thanks
Debbie

I remember someone asking for photos of this and a House on Eccles Old Road, I now have the Photo's but can't remember who asked for them.

It may have been someone in the Chat Room, and it was quite a bit ago, so Many Apologies if it is you.

Lancashire / Locating Thomas Bristow
« on: Saturday 03 May 08 17:00 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

Can anyone help in Locating a Thomas Bristow.

He originates from Scotland and was born early 1920's, he would be in his eighties now.

He lived in the Whalley Range area of Manchester in the late 1940's early 1950's, there is a chance he moved to Salford and was possibly there in the early 80's.

It is also a possiblity that he was in the Army during the 40's.

Any help would be much appreciated, as we have looked everywhere, and come up with nothing, including adverts in both the Manchester Evening News and the Salford Reporter.

It is possible that he has died, but would like to know either way, it is also possible that he moved back to Scotland (although again we have searched this area, and have come up with nothing)

I haven't much else to go on.

Thanks

Debbie
