Hi Harry.  thanks for the suggestion - will have a look.  From info given me by Anne it is clear that Alice Louise didn't belong to my grandparents, which was helpful in itself.. best wishes Yvonne

Hi Dave.  Sorry for the delay in answering - I can never find my way to this page and its taken me 1-1/2 hrs tonight to get here!!

Thanks for the details - will have a look at the site.   I did look at the SFHS Publications but couldn't see my places of interest, in particular Reydon (St. Margaret's), Snape and Tunstall on the list of areas on CD - probably me misreading things. cheers Y

Hi Dave.  Thank you very much for all the details. I don't have a Philip Meadows recorded in my tree and haven't come across Coldfair Green before. Iken, Leiston and Knodishall are however all family 'sites' so this family may be somewhere amongst the branches.  At least I now know that Alice was not one of my grandparents children.

Is the Burial Index something one subscribes to or is it like Parish Registers?

Thank you too SM  for the bit about Coldfair Green, have never heard of it before.  Cheers Yvonne

Hi Corndolly.  thank you for the message.  I can't find this chap on my tree - so far!

I have a Wm. born in Bromeswell in 1868 son of Nat.1833 and Hannah Ling but have no more details than his d.o.b., doesn't look like a match does it.

I think sometimes that Suffolk was mainly populated by the Meadows tribe and most them were either Robert. William or John!

Many thanks again  Cheers Yvonne

Dear Anne,  thank you very much for all your efforts on my behalf.  Sorry that I can't add little Alice to the family!  These are all children of my grandparents - Henry George was my father.  I had FANNY as b. 1874 and you have found ANNA, also I had no record of Robert so that is really interesting.  Francis and Mary Ann were married in Benhall where Mary was born. best wishes Yvonne

Hi Rick  Thank you for your reply.

Francis and Mary were living in REYDON in 1882 and SOUTH COVE in 1886.  A son James is on a Family Search list for 1885 in SOUTH COVE, but I am aware that their dates are not to be relied on.

It was a large family and one of their daughters told me she recalled babies dying and being wheeled to church in a pram for burial.  I just thought little Alice might be one of them. Cheers Y :)

I have found an infant named Alice Louisa Meadows on BMD.  She was b. June 1885 in the Blything registration district and died in  Dec 1885, same place.

I think she may have been born to Francis and Mary Ann Elizabeth Meadows.  Would it be possible for you kind and helpful folk to check this out for me?  Francis was a shepherd.  Many thanks Y
